I blame all lacking in followthrough on Lindelof.
He failed with Lost as he fails with everything.
He comes up with good overall ideas but has a problem getting the nit n gritty details sorted out.
That part of the script should be left to someone else

And to whomever commented on the score. I totally agree. It sucked. It was super old fashioned and just seemed to not match the film. Almost like they used stock music or something.

I also hated the part where the robot chick says, "Father!" LIke I was supposed to give a fuck about that at all. The old guy seemed tacked on and totally pointless.

I enjoyed this film.

Spoiler alert if not mentioned before by the media (I've abandoned TV) and if it wasn't discussed in this thread.

I was surprised by the Alien prequel stuff. I knew Scott made the film but did not know he tied them together so that was fun for me. One person I know pointed out that the ship in Alien had the guy sitting in the pilot seat and in this film the alien/human dude left to go kick the shit out of the chick. Not sure if that was the same ship in Alien but that would have been a mistake in the prequel series.

But being a fan of the first few Alien movies I was satisfied.

It was originally conceived as a true prequel. During the writing, they decided to not make it a direct prequel but still within the same world.

That way they can make sequels and not have conflict with the Alien films.

The ship in Prometheus is not the same ship from Alien.

The end with the squid thing evolving into the xenomorph was the only real tie in with the Alien movies.

That said, they are making a sequel to this and perhaps they will tie the sequel in with Alien even more.

Noted. I will use this info giz to fire back at my friend to see what they have to say and to me that makes sense for more sequals and such. But what I was really hoping for is following the chick to the alien planet and see what type of shit she gets into there.
